A viral Facebook video helped nab a local pair of alleged thieves after police say they were caught on camera in Mississippi stealing a set of golf clubs.

Mississippi-based newspaper The Sun Herald reports Amy Beth Minor of Howe and Bryan Shane Bebermeyer of Monroe, both 31 years old, were arrested on a charge of receiving stolen property in Waveland, Miss., and booked into the Hancock County jail.

According to the newspaper, Kieren Rouse of Biloxi, Miss., posted a video from his home-security system to the social media website. In the video, a woman is seen stealing golf clubs off his front porch. The clubs were later found at a pawn shop.

Rouse’s video reportedly tied together a multi-state investigation regarding the pair after Gulf Shores, Ala., police posted a video of a truck allegedly stolen in Heavener. The truck was spotted by someone who had watched a video posted by the Gulf Shores police, and alerted the Waveland department after the truck was spotted at the Waveland Walmart.

A Biloxi investigator told the newspaper Minor and Bebermeyer had switched tags on the truck to avoid detection. It had wrecked somewhere between New Orleans and Waveland, and had damage on the passenger side of the vehicle, which did not appear in Rouse’s video, police told the paper.

LeFlore County court records show an April 2016 unlawful possession of a controlled dangerous substance — methamphetamine — charge out of Heavener for Minor. From the same case, other charges were misdemeanors of unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia, public intoxication, trespassing after being forbidden and carrying weapons.

Rouse said the golf clubs were valued at about $500. The theft occurred in early May.
