Dustin Ester, 40, returned to LeFlore County recently to be close to he and his wife's family after she was diagnosed with Lupus. Dustin's wife, Delana Luman Ester, is in need of close family care during so the move to be near her parents seemed the best.
Dustin and Delana and their two children Tyler, 16, and Logan, 14, moved to Heavener and two months later, Dustin was diagnosed with cancer. He has since undergone six cycles of chemotherapy and 18 radiation treatments.
Dustin is a veteran of the Gulf War were he served aboard the U.S.S. Kitty Hawk as a fire fighter.
The Masonic Lodge of Heavener and Dustin and Delana's friends and family are hosting an Indian Taco drink and dessert benefit to help raise money to offset medical costs. The dinner will be held Sunday Aug. 12 from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. at the First Baptist Church in Heavener. The church is located at 200 W. Ave â€śCâ€ť. Dinners are $5 per person and take out orders will be available.
