Ouachita National Forest officials have closed the Choctaw Office in Hodgen temporarily after discovering mold in the air conditioning vent systems.

Officials said testing on the mold was scheduled Tuesday, with results expected next week.

“To ensure safety for all employees and the public, access to the Choctaw Office will be limited to mold inspection teams and mold cleaning crews,” said Shawn Cochran, Ouachita National Forest deputy supervisor.

“Once we get the results of those tests, we will determine the best course of action for cleaning the ventilation systems and office.”

During the testing and clean up, Forest Service employees working at Choctaw office will work temporarily in other Forest Service offices in the surrounding area.

The public can contact the Hochatown Office in Broken Bow for information at (580) 494-6402.
