Pocola coach looking for his team to find 'identity' in tonight's scrimmage

August 17, 2012

Pocola Football Coach Rick Lang, whose Indians were hit hard by graduation, is wanting one main thing when his team participates in its first scrimmage of the preseason at 6 p.m. tonight at John Carter Field against the Gore Pirates. That one thing is an “identity.”
“I'm looking for identity,” Lang said. “I want to see how our kids react. We're sort of a new team. I want to see them get some identity for themselves. We graduated a lot of skilled-position kids. I want these kids to set the tone for a new identity. Since it's more of a game-like scrimmage, I want to see how they react because we're so young in some spots. They need the experience. Mistakes concern me being so young. We're running out of time. We've got to get some things ironed out.”
