It’s hard for coaches to turn down chances to coach at their alma mater. Just ask Jason Prescott and Shane Amos. Prescott, who has been an assistant football coach for the Poteau Pirates, was hired as the new Pocola High School football coach last week, replacing Rick Lang who went to Blackwell. Amos, who spent the last three seasons coaching the Arkoma High School fast-pitch softball and high school boys basketball teams, returns to his stomping grounds to be both an assistant coach for Prescott in football and will be the high school boys basketball coach.
