Back to school shoppers can catch a break this weekend with Oklahoma's annual Sales Tax Holiday offering three tax-free days.

Oklahoma's event begins at 12:01 a.m. Friday and ends midnight Sunday. It applies to clothing and shoes priced under $100.

Accessories, special clothing or footwear for athletics or protective use, as well as accessories such as jewelry, wallets, watches or handbags, are not included.

Qualifying items will be exempt from state, city, county and local municipality sales taxes, the Oklahoma Tax Commission said.

The Oklahoma holiday began in 2007. A full list of items not included is available on the Oklahoma Tax Commission website at www.ok.gov.

The Arkansas Sales Tax Holiday begins at 12:01 a.m. Saturday and runs to midnight Sunday. In addition to clothing and footwear under $100, clothing accessories and equipment less than $50 per items, school supplies, school art supplies and school instructional materials also will be tax exempt.

Remaining taxable will be sewing equipment and supplies, protective equipment and sport or recreational equipment. See a list of items not included on the Arkansas Department of Finance and Administration website at www.dfa.arkansas.gov.
