Christmas Honors is inviting the citizens of the Fort Smith, Ark., region to help honor servicemen and women who have made the ultimate sacrifice for our nation at the 10th Annual Christmas Honors event.
A variety of Christmas events will be ongoing Saturday, Dec. 1, in Poteau.
Ornaments at Christmas will be held from 4-5:30 p.m. before the Poteau Christmas Parade this Saturday in the LeFlore County Museum at Hotel Lowrey at 303 Dewey Ave., Poteau.
Claudia Jones of Stilwell was crowned Miss CASC 2019 on Thursday, Nov. 15, at the annual Miss Carl Albert State College competition. As the new Miss CASC, she will represent Carl Albert at the Miss Oklahoma Pageant in June, 2019.
The fifth annual Thanksgiving Leftovers Smashup roller derby game will be Nov. 25 at Skate Reation of Poteau. A portion of proceeds raised will benefit LeFlore County Department of Human Services Foster Care.
The annual Carl Albert State College Vike@Nite 5k is set to begin at 6 p.m. on the Poteau campus of Carl Albert State College. The festivities will begin with a kids run at 5:30 p.m., the kids course will remain on the CASC campus throughout their race.
The University of Arkansas at Fort Smith's combined choirs and Symphonic Band will perform the acclaimed masterwork “Carmina Burana” at 7:30 p.m. Oct. 29 at the ArcBest Performing Arts Center, located at 55 S. 7th Street, Fort Smith.
