Heavener Runestone Viking Festival

Vikings will return to Heavener for the 14th Viking Festival for Oct. 13-14 at Runestone Park.

The festival will run 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. daily to fund the continued operation of the park. It is put on by Friends of Heavener Runestone, a local nonprofit.

There will be daily events, from re-enactor battles, bird shows and live music. There will also be good, games and plenty of merchants.

The Viking Festival is held at the park on Poteau Mountain in Heavener, which is constructed about the Heavener Runestone, thought by some to be inscribed on by Vikings.

The festival is an all-ages event. Cost is $5 per person with children 5 and under free. Parking will be off site at the Heavener High School, where handicap-accessible shuttle buses will transport visitors from 9:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. up and down from the park.
