Loomis found guilty of first-degree manslaughter

After about two hours of deliberation, a jury found Jerry Don Loomis, 56, of Wister guilty of first-degree manslaughter after authorities say Loomis shot his wife, 49-year-old Bobbye Jo Loomis, in the chest with a handgun in the late hours of June 17, 2016.

The jury recommended four years. Sentencing is scheduled for 2:30 p.m. Sept. 22.
