Poteau Fourth of July details released

The annual “Celebrate America” Independence Day celebration will begin at 6 p.m. July 4 in the Donald W. Reynolds Community Center parking lot.

There will be free water slides for children from 6-8 p.m., as well as free street carnival games and face painting. Jack’s Jewelers has sponsored a kids bicycle drawing and Walmart and Braum’s have also sponsored special prizes.

Live music and a dance will begin at 6 p.m. in the amphitheater featuring the band Still Kickin’.

Hamburgers, hot dogs and drinks will be available for purchase. The city-sponsored fireworks show will begin at dark.
