Woman injured in ATV wreck near Rattan

A 63-year-old woman was injured in a four-wheeler accident Wednesday near Rattan in Pushmataha County, the Oklahoma Highway Patrol reported.

OHP Trooper Nathan Mullins said the crash occurred when a 5-year-old passenger pressed the gas pedal, causing the vehicle to run into a tree. The boy was unhurt.

Lynda Whitehead of Antler suffered head injuries and was flown by Eagle Med to Plano Medical Center in Plano, Texas, where she was reported in stable condition.

The accident occurred on private property southwest of Rattan.
