Good Times Community Theatre, in Poteau, will be performing Footloose! at the Donald W. Reynolds Center in Poteau.
Showtimes are Friday and Saturday, May 17th and 18th at 7 p.m., and Sunday, May 19th at 2 p.m. .

Poteau Polar Plunge to return

The Poteau Polar Plunge is slated for Feb. 24 at Choctaw Country Club in Poteau.

The club is located at 21723 Country Club Drive. Registration begins at 10 a.m. with the plunge to follow at 11 a.m.

A Bokoshe native has released her newest book and she will be in town next month to sign copies with proceeds to benefit a local scholarship.

A.L. Vincent, aka Alisha Vincent, is a teacher and writer living in Louisiana. She was born in Oklahoma.

Writer seeking information on WWI Code Talkers

Sarah Elizabeth Sawyer, who conducted a writing workshop in Poteau last October, is embarking on a new project to honor the Choctaw Code Talkers of World War I.

She is appealing to the public for to share information they may have about the storied warriors.
